Automobili Lamborghini at Chantilly Arts & Élégance 2024
A celebration of elegance, heritage, and innovation in the sign of Sant’Agata Bolognese
Chantilly, 17 September 2024 – The prestigious “Chantilly Arts & Élégance Richard Mille” event, taking place on 15 September, is one of the most esteemed car shows in the French automotive calendar, and this year Lamborghini garnered significant attention with its prominent presence, display and special celebrations dedicated to the brand. During the event, that included the Concours d’Élégance, the Concours d’État and various exclusive rallies through the stunning surrounding countryside, Automobili Lamborghini delivered a captivating display of both its current models and heritage cars, providing am exclusive insight into the brand evolution. In particular, the Lamborghini Countach was the highlight of a special celebration at Chantilly. Lamborghini showcased the very first Countach LP400, brought directly from the Sant’Agata Bolognese Museum, along with a rare 25th Anniversary edition, certified by Lamborghini’s Polo Storico and preserved in impeccable, original condition. Moreover, for the occasion, a dedicated class within the Concours d’Elegance was reserved for this iconic model, bringing together a stunning collection of remarkable Lamborghini Countach cars.
At the heart of the Lamborghini exhibition were the brand’s first two hybrid production models: the new Super SUV Urus SE[1] and the Revuelto[2], the first production Lamborghini HPEV V12. These two vehicles mark a new era for Lamborghini, embodying the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. The Lamborghini Urus SE and Revuelto represent the first major milestones in the brand’s Direzione Cor Tauri strategy, which sets the course for decarbonizing its future model lineup. This path, which continued in August with the unveiling of the Lamborghini Temerario[3], the first Lamborghini hybrid bi-turbo V8 supercar, is focused on building a more environmentally responsible future without compromising Lamborghini’s signature performance, design, or unique driving experience.
One of the highlights of the Lamborghini heritage display was the Countach LP400 Chassis 0001, the very first Countach LP400 ever built in 1974. This remarkable car stands as a tribute to Lamborghini’s engineering prowess and its influence on the evolution of supercars over the past five decades. Lamborghini participated in the Concours d’Élégance, where car manufacturers showcased their rarest, most special and most valuable models. For this prestigious occasion, Lamborghini presented a Countach 25th Anniversary, a masterpiece that debuted in 1988 to celebrate 25 years of Automobili Lamborghini. Powered by a formidable V12 engine producing 455 horsepower at 7000 rpm, the Countach 25th Anniversary is more than just a car— it’s a piece of automotive history. This specific Countach 25th Anniversary, meticulously preserved by its owner and certified by Lamborghini’s Polo Storico, exemplifies the growing trend in the classic automotive world for recognizing the value of officially preserved cars.
“It was a special privilege for me to take part in this memorable event and meet our clients and international collectors in such a special location,” said Alessandro Farmeschi, Lamborghini’s After Sales Director. “As Polo Storico, we are dedicated to preserving the history of our company, our brand and our cars by taking care of our company archive, certifying and performing restorations of our cars from the past. Having the opportunity to showcase the very first Countach and a preserved and certified Countach 25th Anniversary was an exceptional way to demonstrate the importance of the services we provide, all within such a breathtaking location.”
In addition to its presence at the Concours d’Élégance, the Lamborghini brand was celebrated during the Concours d’État, as this year’s competition included a special class to mark the 50th anniversary since the beginning of Countach production, featuring four rare and important examples of Countach: LP 400, LP 400 S and 5000 Quattrovalvole.
