Discover a once hard-to-reach remote island via new direct flight routes

Greenland

The far-flung Arctic territory of Greenland has long been one of the planet’s most mysterious places (like, why is it known as Greenland when most of it is white?), but next year the island will become much less of an enigma to travellers. How? Well, it’s all thanks to the opening of a brand-new international airport just outside the capital of Nuuk. Operations are set to launch at the very end of this year, and throughout 2025 there’ll be multiple services per week from both Europe and the USA.
